Then 'Til Now

Deuteronomy 4.20
God took you right out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to become the people of his inheritance—and that's what you are this very day.
yes God, we will be careful to remember this, careful to guard ourselves, careful to yield our thoughts and our hearts to you, holy spirit, so you could always bring to our remembrance how you powerfully took us right out of the iron furnace, out of our old life, out of depending on ourselves, out of looking to our own hands for our provision, out of keeping it together on our own strength, out of trusting ourselves to manage everything, out of running the unending rat race of human life - out of all that, to become people of your inheritance - people in faith, people who truly trust in you, people who operate in your truth and not in the truth of our physical eyes, people who don't disregard our situation but wisely know full well that we are not limited by our situation as well - people who follow you, your children, your beloved, and that's what we are to this very day. grateful, lord!
