1. if God were such an all-powerful ever-caring God, why is there so much “bad” in this world? wars, diseases, crime, quarrels, accidents, injustice, poverty, hate, pain, suffering, death?

Holy Different 2: Faith

“...this faith...is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.” Hebrews 11.1-2 (MSG)
last time, i couldn’t sleep because God just blew me away me with how holiness really meant “differentness” - him being holy refers to how different he is, not just being one of a kind, but him being the only one of his kind - the reason why he deserves the most wasteful and excessive devotion far above all.
now i can’t sleep again.

i can’t sleep.
when i tell God, “you are holy,” do i really know what it means? in an age when holiness is religiously overrated, does this word “holiness” still arrest me? when i hear that holy means “set apart”, “consecrated”, does something even remotely stir in me?
